2015-2020 winners

Prizes were established in 1967 in honor of Carl C. Lohmann, Class of 1910, founding member of the honorable company of college printers, lifelong typophile, and secretary of the University from 1927 to 1953. Since 2015, they have been supported by the Adrian Van Sinderen Book Collecting Prize fund.

Winners of the Lohmann Prize

Due to the university’s response to Covid-19, this year’s competition was held entirely online and two additional categories (Web/App Design and Echoes in the new Altered Book) were created to broaden the competition. Judges saw more than eighty submissions that featured a wide variety of academic, personal, and professional pieces.

This year the committee awarded an additional $2,000 in prize money in honor of the class of 2020 and all the students who will be missing their summer opportunities.
